TIRE COMPONENTS

TROESTER customers have for many years been successfully manufacturing up to 4 different tire components in one single process. These units, featuring two, three or four extruders in fixed position on top of another, with matching heads, have taken over from the older configuration ("boxer" or "Y layouts) sine the early 70's.

Set-up times are short as there is unrestricted access to the extrusion-head from the front and the side, and all parts necessary for a profile change are within easy reach. The extruder configuration on top of another in one axis also permits the flow channels to be symmetrically arranged. The flow channels are bored to accept pressure and temperature transducers.

To facilitate faster changing of the single-part flow channel inserts, in the lower section of the respective head sections, they are held in position by a hydraulically operated pin. Withdrawal of the extrusion screws, for maintenance, is trough the open extrusion head.

 Main advantages of TROESTER Multi-Component Units:
  • low space requirement due to compact design;
  • extruders and head configured to allow for optimum design of material flow channels;
  • short head cleaning times;
  • short set-up times due to easy changeover of head tooling and flow channel inserts.

Hammer Head4Hammer Head3The hydraulic clamping of the head parts of a Hammer Head allows for a separate opening of the upper (alternatively lower) flow channel for compound changes. This kind of clamping is available for Duplex-, Triplex and Quadruplex-Heads.
